In order to ensure the safety of all users of the Véloroute, we ask that you comply with the following regulations:
- Helmets are mandatory if you are cycling.
- Signal your intention to stop, overtake, or turn.
- Overtaking is always done on the left!
- Ride and walk on the right, in the direction of traffic.
- When riding in an area shared with other users, slow down.
- A bicycle bell is strongly recommended when approaching users.
- A mirror as well as a front and rear light are strongly suggested.
- In case of a medical emergency, call 911 and indicate the number of the nearest kilometre marker to your location.
- Move in line when you are in a group.
- Dogs are only allowed on short leashes and under the control of walkers.
- A maximum speed of 30 km is in effect. Slow down at intersections and when you pass by or overtake users.
- For children under 12 years of age, travel with an adult.
- Get off the path when you stop.
- If you ride at night, use front and rear lights on your bike.
- Cyclists with an electrically assisted bicycle must be at least 14 years of age, and cyclists 14 to 17 years of age must have a license authorizing them to ride a moped.
- It is prohibited to drive while impaired.
- Avoid driving while using a walkman fitted with earphones.
